This martial arts photograph is of my daughter's Sensei demonstrating why the way he is teaching the class to rise to their feet from a kneeling position is important. He said that when rising with a sword from the kneeling position the way he is teaching allows for the sword to be drawn without injuring yourself. He has a good tendency to explain the reasons behind what he is demonstrating and training the class to do.
