My plan was to head to the "Four Falls Walk" near Ystradfellte to make use of the forecast of freezing and misty conditions...

Driving into the Brecon Beacons through thick fog, but without any frost on the ground, it became apparent that the forecast was at least half right!

But, as I dropped into the valley towards the start point of the walk, the mist disappeared. So, I decided to get higher again - and drive along the A4059 to look for potential in the mist.

I soon spotted some mist providing a sense of depth to the scene across the hills as the sun rose. So, I stopped on a rough lay-by and walked down the hillside to get closer to the foreground trees.

I'm glad I took the little detour to make this image - although it did feel a little rushed!
