The Buteo Lineatus or Red Shouldered Hawk is a medium-sized raptor that is common on the East Coast of the United States. It also has a habitat starting in Central California extending down into central Mexico. This bird of prey likes to perch in high spots that give it a good view of the terrain when it is not actually in flight. This wildlife photo of a Red-Shouldered Hawk was taken at the Circle B Bar Reserve in central Florida.
