As a person who's suffered from mental health i decided to do a project at school around mental health and the fragility of the teenage mind. I also used a photo of a wilting rose to compare it too. The reason being that both images show seclusion and helplessness, as well as the uselessness of being able to do anything. They both also help show that people don't pay attention or help those in need.
