Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Tumacácori National Park about an hour south of Tucson, Arizona. Tumacácori National Historical Park is located in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley in Santa Cruz County, southern Arizona. The park consists of 360 acres in three separate units. The park protects the ruins of three Spanish mission communities, two of which are National Historic Landmark sites. It also contains the landmark 1937 Tumacácori Museum building, also a National Historic Landmark.

Time

I’m not sure about the time of day exactly but probably mid day.

Lighting

Natural light. I had to shoot with what I had in the way of the light and time of day.

Equipment

I’ve been an Olympus user for ages. This was shot with an E-30. The lens was a Zhukov 18-180mm and shot at 38mm

Inspiration

I am drawn to shapes and lines, textures and shadows.

Editing

I am pretty minimalist when it comes to photo editing. I usually only adjust for luminosity and shadow detail.

In my camera bag

My kit really depends on how far from home I’m traveling. I almost always carry a tripod. I have a few fixed lenses and a few zooms. My favorite lens is the Zuiko Digital 7-14mm.

Feedback

If you have the time, shoot as the light changes. Fill flash during the day also gives amazing results.
