Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Delhi India in 2018. My friend pictured had just got divorced and we decided to take this trip together but this meant me leaving my husband and 2 children to go.l which wasn’t way. I am based in the UK so it’s was very far from home. It was a very special adventure for both of us. We went for 8 days to experience Holi Festival.

Time

This was mid morning.

Lighting

On this shot I wanted to create a sillohette and with having all the light in front of her when under the archway and where I was dark, we were able to manage it.

Equipment

I actually used my iPhone for this photo. But it was because of this holiday and knowing I wanted to take better photos that I came home and purchased a DSLR. That was 2 years ago. This month I booked 4 weddings!

Inspiration

My friends is my muse. We flow well together. She just knows how to move. I see the shot in my head and she creates intriguing movements which I love to capture.

Editing

Not on this photo.

In my camera bag

At the moment I shoot on a D3500 but I’m just about to upgrade to a D850. I love my 50mm 1.8g and always have that with me.

Feedback

Don’t be afraid to try new things. Some things work, some don’t, but it’s in trying new things that we sometimes manage to capture the hidden magic.
