Behind The Lens

Location

I tool this photo from a small passenger plane that was flying over Chicago and was about to land at the O'Hare airport.

Time

it was just past one o'clock when the sun started to shine through the clouds, as the small plane slowly went by chicago I felt as though i didnt let go of the shutter.

Lighting

The sun shining through the clouds made these beautiful god-rays in the distance and it also gave nice defining shadows to all the buildings, trees, and in general all larger objects.

Equipment

I used my favorite travel camera the Nikon D5500 which is especially light and easy to hold with a deep grip that has a good feel in your hands, and a nifty-fifty, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 which always has the beautiful bokeh and awesome sharpness of a fixed lens. besides that I guess I used a plane.

Inspiration

I was captivated by the beautiful architecture combined with the glorious god-rays, and I could not help but excitedly pull my camera out of my bag and start shooting.

Editing

I used some color adjustment to enhance the blues and some local contrast to pull out the details using, the Affinity Photo program.

In my camera bag

I always carry my Nikon D5500 for its good grip and lightweight for my erratic running around and changing angles to not miss the shot, also my Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 Is my go-to for portraits and pretty much my go-to for its precise sharpness, and my second lens is a Nikon AF-S 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 for wide angles or zoom shots

Feedback

If you want to capture something similar remember to always keep your camera at the ready when flying in a plane.
