Location
This is a view of Lake Michigan's western shoreline from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, near Sheboygan's Blue Harbor Resort.Time
Early morning, before sunrise.Lighting
Dawn provided more colors than a camera seems capable of capturing. When the Sun finally pierced the eastern horizon, beautiful as it was, it tore through the pastel tones that painted the sky.Equipment
My new Nikon D750 with the kit, 24-120 lens. Free-handed.Inspiration
It was a moment so calm, peaceful, and pretty that it just begged to be photographed.Editing
Yery little. It's been a little while, but to capture the light pastel colors of the sky, I had to keep my exposure quick, for the light. After shooting, I just boosted the shadows in the foreground to more closely represent the way the scene appeared to my naked eye.In my camera bag
Nikon D750 w/ 24-120mm is nearly constant as it is my first full-frame rig. I have a 70-300 that I use at times, but I also have a few crop-sensor Nikons where I can go as wide as 10-20. I'm only beginning to experiment with filters.Feedback
The early bird gets the worm also applies to photographers looking to capture stunning images. Anyone could take this shot, as long as they awake early enough! :)
