Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while walking a client's dog(I'm a pet sitter part -time) They live in the most beautiful neighborhood and the residents love keeping thier yards and gardens full of colorful blooms like these Marigolds! Most of my flower shots are actually taken there. I certainly couldn't pass these up..

Time

I believe this set with the Marigolds were taken around 9 or 10am.

Lighting

It was slightly overcast that morning which actually worked to my advantage, otherwise that full morning sun would have require crazy positions to eliminate shadows.

Equipment

The only equipment I use is, drum roll please....... My Android! I have a Samsung J7 with a 13mp back and 8mp front camera. It has a fantastic HD setting or I can use manual settings also. It just takes darn good photos!! Am I limited as far as specialties shots like extreme action or long distance? Of course, but for now this is what I have and I love this Android! Soon I hope to get my first DSLR, but I will probably use my phone as well. You can see how fantastic the close ups are!!

Inspiration

I Love Shooting Flowers, Period!! They are the inspiration!

Editing

Honestly I can't remember. If so I may have just did some adjusting with lighting exposure, contrast and shadowing. I don't usually do a lot with florals, they are beautiful to begin with.

In my camera bag

Lol, read above section regarding what camera was used for this shot!

Feedback

Get down on the ground, get in the dirt, don't be afraid to move leaves or stems that seem to look out of place or in the way of your subject. Oh and knock on the door and ask permission to get all up in someone's flowers, and offer a print or send a copy if they'd like one.
