Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while walking along the shore of Tongue Point in Wellington, New Zealand.

Time

I was walking along the black sand beach in Tongue Point on the afternoon of December 5th, 2019, when this sassy guy demanded I pay him some attention.

Lighting

It was a perfect day with enough clouds in the sky to be able to capture great photos on the water with no additional equipment.

Equipment

I used my Sony A-6000 with a Tamron 18-200mm lens.

Inspiration

This guy became very vocal when I was walking by, he definitely wanted some attention. He was quite the poser, so I grabbed the opportunity to take a few shots of him.

Editing

No major processing was done. I just used the dehaze feature of Photoshop Elements program. I don't like to process the photos I take because I like to remember what I saw in the moment. I'm just a hobbyist and do what I do for pleasure.

In my camera bag

I don't carry much. I either take my Sony A-6000 or my Sony RX10iv. I always bring extra batteries and smart cards. I'm a minimalist at heart.

Feedback

The best advice I can give someone is to always have a camera with you when you go someplace. You never know when a moment will present itself and you won't want to miss it.
