Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my home studio in Burghclere, Hampshire UK.

Time

I don't remember honestly but not even very important because I was shooting with artificial light. I try to book my clients for late morning ours when they are not sleepy but not hungry too but everyone is feeling more confident in front of the camera when they are before luch not after :P

Lighting

I used only one LED light in a Pixapro softbox. I don't like to over complicate my settings... I like to keep it as simple as possible, sometimes I shoot only with a bedside lamp which gives a very romantic feeling to the photos.

Equipment

I used my much loved Canon 5D MKIV with Canon 24-70mm 2.8 lens ( not a portrait lens but my home studio is very small and a zoom lens can be very versatile). I also used only one LED light in a Pixapro softbox ordered from Essentialphoto.

Inspiration

I love shooting boudoir, teaching them they are worth to be loved and be confident. The experience I offer my clients is designed to face their fears, and somehow along the way…find themself again.

Editing

I do a very minimal postprocessing like adding a little more contrast, highlight or vibrance, the big part of the job I like to do with my camera.

In my camera bag

My camera bag is soo heavy I can't even bring everything with me everywhere :)))) .I have my very loved Canon 5D MKIV, Canon 24-70mm 2.8mm, Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 70-200mm 2.8 III, Pixapro Li ION 580 II, Pixapro ST-III TTL-T trigger, Magmod light modifier kit, Helios and Vivitar manual lenses, Filters, Cleaning kits and many other Items.

Feedback

If you are planning to shoot Boudoir Photography you need to gain confidence first because your clients won't trust you enough to book shots with you. It is a very big challenge for them to show themselves without clothes specially if they have any body inperfections. I highly recommend to ask one of your friend or your partner to shoot first and exercise and shortly you will build a portfolio and gain experience too.
