Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my bedroom. I had just bought my Nikon D5300 camera, I started to dabble around into the world of photography.

Time

This is a favorite of mine, only because I absolutely love Gary Cooper. I took this early in the evening around 6pm. I just had returned home from work and decided to fidget around with my camera. This was just the about the right timing and with the right model.

Lighting

The lighting was fairly low but I loved how it was accenting Gary's eyes. I decided to get a little closer to capture the radiant green that was looking through the camera.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D5300, 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I was not looking particularly for a specific shot or anything. I was just fidgeting around with my camera, trying to get used to it as a whole. Then I felt Gary Cooper sticking a claw into my foot; that's when the shot came alive.

Editing

I adjust the lighting a little and saturation.

In my camera bag

I usually carry Nikon D5300 camera, 18-55mm lens, a lens ball and then spare batteries. I am still very new to photography and I am still figuring out what I need to proceed.

Feedback

When this picture happened it truly was a spur of the moment incident. I guess my best advice for anyone trying to capture something similar is just be aware of the beauty that surrounds you. Sometimes the simplicity of life's beauty is right in front of us.
