Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Santorini, Greece at sunset. The beauty of the nature comes together with the architecturial greatness of the island.

Time

It was around 7 p.m, sunset time on the island.

Lighting

I think that sunset and shadows have made the photo more appealing.

Equipment

I use Canon 650d. The lens was 50 mm prime lens with f.1.8. I have not used tripod or something, the light was just great.

Inspiration

I just wanted to keep a memory of this unique sunset.

Editing

I use lightroom at basic level. I slightly increased the contrast and made the sky more orangey.

In my camera bag

Canon 650D, 50 mm prime lens with f.1.8, 18-55 mm kit lens.

Feedback

I applied the basic rules of photography like rule of thirds and leading lines. The sea leads my eyes to the islands at the horizon.Horizontally, one third of the photo is sky while two third of the photo is the sea & mainland. Both vertically and horizontally, the tower of the church is placed on one third of the photo.
