I took this photo in my home studio in Split, Croatia. I shoot almost all the portraits in my bedroom.Time
I always shoot late in the afternoon or at night. That is time of the day when we all get home so we can relax and fool around together.Lighting
I like keep it simple. I shot this photo using just one flash and silver umbrella.Equipment

This photo is part of the series about violence. With this photo I wanted to communicate importance of letting our kids speak their minds. If children are silenced and if they are not free to express their opinion, they often become violent toward themselves or others.Editing
I did some basic correction in Lightroom and Photoshop. I used Photoshop plugin Nick Collection, more specific: Color Efex Pro 4, Detail extractor to pull out details. Some more color correction with Color balance adjustment layer, nothing fancy.In my camera bag
Nikon d7100 is my main camera. I have also Nikon d3400 for backup. Lenses: Nikkor 35 mm 1.8, Sigma 11-16 f2,8, Sigma 16-50 f2.8 and Nikkor 70-300.Feedback
From my experience, if you want to make a conceptual photo, that involves people, especialy kids, the most important thing is to elaborate your idea before taking camera in your hand. If you shooting kids, take a lot of photos, be funny and play with your model.
