Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a visit to a Falconry training camp in Bowmanville, Ontario... Seeing this majestic bird so close was an amazing experience... And that sharp look is never to be forgotten!

Time

This was taken in late fall, October 2015... the day was a little cloudy so the light conditions were far from optimum...

Lighting

I focused on the bird's head, trying to capture the eyes... this allowed me to blur the background to achieve a more dramatic effect.

Equipment

This was shot with an Olympus mirror-less OMD-EM1. ISO 1600 Shutter 1/125 Focal Length 134/1

Inspiration

The eagle is one of the most beautiful creatures that you can have as a subject.. having the opportunity to be this close was a gift...

Editing

No post-processing.

In my camera bag

I shoot with my Olympus OMD-EM1 and two main lenses. A 75-300 Zoom and a 12-40 mm wide angle.
