Location
This photo was taken from my front porch. I am a self-taught photographer. I had my camera on my tripod and waited patiently with remote in hand for the the hummingbird to come back to the feeder.Time
This was taken in late afternoon on the east side of the house which was already mostly shaded.Lighting
I wanted the bird's colors to show more vividly. I noticed that when it came in from the north towards the feeder I could see the sun was shining on the bird giving a more colorful view.Equipment
I used my tripod, Nikon D3300 with the AF Nikkor 55-200mm lens.Inspiration
To capture a hummingbird in flight and see it's wings has always been a struggle for me. I was watching some photography videos that gave me instruction on how to capture this photo. I went outside and put lessons to work and was amazed that I was able to get the photo.Editing
I did do a little post-processing to get the sky to be a little more blue and to lighten the foreground just a bit.In my camera bag
My camera back usually has my Nikon D3300, Nikon D9000, AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens, AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens with lens hood, remote, cables, extra SD cards, and my tripod in hand.Feedback
