On our last night in Budapest, it began to snow!
As I drank my rum with friends in the "ruin bar" (very, very rustic Hungarian bars) near our accommodation, snow began to fall through where there once was a roof...
So I thought - if I'm going to make the effort to get up early on any morning, it would have to be on this day! (I think that walking in the region of 15 miles a day and drinking more mulled wine in one weekend than I have in my lifetime stopped me from getting up early on the previous mornings!) Luckily, two of my cousins (and travel buddies) were quite keen for an early morning walk in the snow - so we headed out together...
Having visited a couple of times previously, we decided to head to the River Danube - maybe 25 minutes walk from our accommodation in the Jewish District. On the way we passed the tram route. The yellow trams made for excellent focal points - amidst the array of city and Christmas lights.
(I'll confess to a cheat!... the illuminated sign to the right of the the tram was totally "blown out" - over exposed in my RAW file... so I dropped in another photo I took from the trip. I did the same on another shot that I'm yet to post - spending a long while faking reflected light - luckily I don't think that amount of effort was needed on this shot)
