Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my backyard. I have always loved poppies and picked this flower to put in a vase in my kitchen greenhouse window. I noticed that when the light was shining on it it looked so much like an eye. The only camera I had on my at the times was my cell phone, so I snapped this picture with it.

Time

It was in the afternoon I believe. I was standing in front of my greenhouse window in the kitchen so a lot of light was shining through even though it wasn't a really sunny day!

Lighting

It was an unexpected picture. I didn't plan the lighting or anything! I just happened to be standing there at the right time with the light shining through the back of the beautiful poppy!

Equipment

My Motorola cell phone. Nothing else.

Inspiration

This poppy did. It was so naturally beautiful and was staring at me!

Editing

I just lightened it up a bit on my cell phones pre-installed software.

In my camera bag

I am truly a novice at pictures. I do it for a hobby and enjoy it so much. I currently have a Canon Rebel T6 and the lenses that came with them. My husband got me a tripod just not too long ago which I have been using at times. I need to try and buckle myself down to really learn about all the details about my camera and photography in general. There is so much I don't know about all the settings. I also need to learn how to use post processing tools! Whenever I tell myself I am going to sit down to do this, I usually end up going on a hike instead and taking more pictures. Nothing like walking alone on a quiet beautiful wooded path in the mountains and capturing its beauty!

Feedback

Look at the details.
