Location
This was taken in Lexington, Kentucky on a hot summer day near my neighborhood.Time
I got this shot in the morning. However, we had been having some very hot weather and many animals had been displaced due to new construction. As I was driving to my usual photo spot at the park I spotted this very thirsty fox in someone's driveway. I stopped and snapped a few shots of him. Turns out others had seen in him in previous days.Lighting
The lighting for this was natural. It was a sunny clear morning and the little fox just stood there posing for me.Equipment
I used my Nikon DSLR to capture this and a few other shots from my car window. (Not safe to approach a wild animal, especially when it is hungry and thirsty)Inspiration
We rarely get to see foxes in the area. They are certainly around, but typically hang around at night. If lucky, we can see them early in the mornings. However, this was a rare opportunity because this particular fox was scouring the neighborhood for food and water.Editing
I didn't have to do any post processing on this shot other than a small crop.In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon in the car and it usually has a 70mm~300mm lens attached. I also carry my iPhone 11 ProMax (which is now upgraded to an iPhone 13 Pro Max.)Feedback
My best advice is to ALWAYS have your camera equipment, be at the ready and keep your eyes on alert. You really never know when an opportunity will arise!
