Behind The Lens

Location

I am a therapist and used to do equine therapy. At the barn there are many rescued animals, these 3 just happened to be rescued kittens my coworker was caring for until they were old enough to be adopted. I caught this touching moment on my Samsung galaxy 6 phone when the babies were cuddling after some shenanigans!

Time

This was early afternoon. I had to be careful as to not disrupt the happy pile of kittens as they rested.

Lighting

I used basic editing to add a vignette to focus on the kittens little faces and darken out other distractions in the background.

Equipment

I shot this with my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone camera.

Inspiration

The kittens were so lovely but hard to capture a picture of because they rarely stopped moving. I loved how your eye doesn't recognize the 3rd kittens head at first glance so you almost do a double-take when you see it.

Editing

I just used the photo editor that came with the phone and added a bit of contrast and vignette to block out the background.

In my camera bag

I only have my phone now but recently upgraded to a Samsung galaxy s9+. I used a Nikon cool pics for some of the older pictures and back in the day had an old Cannon when I developed b&w photos in the darkroom.

Feedback

If you hang around animals enough, they will provide you so many opportunities for beautiful pictures.
