Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken on the back beach of Rye on the Mornington Peninsula and is commonly-known by as the Lizard Head Rock. Upon arrival, I could see the storm forming so I've quickly set up my MeFOTO Globe Trotter Tripod attached my Nikon D850 camera with a Tamron 24-70mm lens to it and captured some shots F/14 @24mm Iso 64 Exp 5/0s before the rain came and yes I got soaked as I walked 500 meters back to my car.

Time

The last month of Spring 15th of November 2019 11:45 am late morning.

Lighting

The light was rapidly deteriorating from a well lit overcast morning light, as the approaching storm advanced.

Equipment

Nikon D850 camera, Tamron 24-70mm lens, MeFOTO GlobeTrotter Tripod

Inspiration

The Lizard Head Rock is a popular photographers spot and I myself only being new to photography I decided to check it out for myself. I haven't seen captures of it under these conditions and I'm glad they were for the elements of nature really makes it stand out from the other shots I have seen.

Editing

Yes I briefly did some editing in Lightroom Classic using the Graduated Filter tool

In my camera bag

In my 24 ltr Tenbar Backpack, I have my Nikon D850 camera body and spare battery pack, Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens, Tamron 24-70mm lens, a Samyang F/2.8 14mm lens, and my Athabasca gnd & nd filter kit

Feedback

I am an invalid but I don't let my disability dictate to me what I can or can't shoot. I love landscape photography, so my motto is to be prepared for anything because at any moment things can and do change and coming away from capturing an unexpected moment is phenomenal and the joy is relived every time you look at that image.
