Location
This photo was taken in Yosemite National Park. Our vacation was delayed, and I was a bit upset, but it turned out to be a great time of year to visit the National Parks. (October)Time
The photo was taken in mid-afternoon. My husband and I spent quite a bit of time in this location, and we had it all to ourselves. We walked through some heavy brush to get to the water before we found a small game trail.Lighting
This was not a planned shot. I just got lucky on the lighting. I have had to adjust some overexposed areas of the shot. The mountain had a glare that the reflection did not have.Equipment
Unbelievably.... I did not shoot this with my Canon, the camera i usually use. I shot this with my phone in a piano setting so i could actually get the whole image.Inspiration
Reflections are just some of my favorite landscape shots so i look for them everywhere.Editing
I only adjusted some light and jumped up a bit of color and contrast with a very cheap app. This never hit my photoshop. In my camera bag
I usually carry a Canon Rebel. I like its quick easy use. 3 or 4 different lenses and is serious need of new macros. I have beat them up pretty good. I rarely carry a tripod because I'm trying to scale down the gear. It gets pretty heavy.Feedback
Digital is free, keep experimenting. Different settings and different angles. It's easy to hit delete! I started in B&W in "78". I know there are some traditionalists that love their film, and that's cool... but I love the freedom of digital! Just get out and play!
