Great shot but would prefer it less square-ish, but rectangular, with a longer horizontal side.

I made it sqaure on purpose so I can make a square canvas out of it. :)

Behind The Lens

Location

My daughter and I were out for a morning stroll in our hometown. It was a beautiful foggy fall morning!

Time

This photo was taken between 8-9am in the morning.

Lighting

I underexposed a little just so the fog wouldn't be too bright when I upped the exposure.

Equipment

canon 5D mark III canon 50mm lens 1.4

Inspiration

This type of maple tree is absolutely stunning during the fall because of the beautiful red leaves. I wanted to take a photo with it for a long time. So when my daughter walked underneath it like this, I knew I needed to capture it because I love how she was looking off with the tree to the side.

Editing

Yes! I did all my edits in lightroom! I actually took about 50 photos and stitched them all together so I could create a wider photo since my 50mm wasn't able to get more of the tree in.

In my camera bag

My canon 5D mark III and my 50mm 1.4 is what I shoot with 98% of the time!

Feedback

Look up the Brenizer Method if you have a lens that isn't wide enough but you want to capture more in your image! It creates a wide angled photo and a shallow depth of field! Fantastic way to get a wide photo when you don't have a wide angle lens! Also, expose for the highlights so you don't blow them out.
