The tree you see is one I've driven past many times during the ski season from my home in Canberra to the ski fields 2 hours away. I've always seen it during the day and have thought to myself that it'd be a great subject matter for an astro shot. The location being an hour away, it's never been convenient to just go and 'get the shot'. The weather, moon position and time of night needed to be right. One weekend, all conditions aligned and I went down at midnight in 0 degree celsius and captured this.
