Location
View from the natural pools, near the promenade of Agaete's Puerto de las Nieves, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. Mountain range in the background is the famous "Cola de Dragon", the Dragon's Tail of GC's northwestern coast.Time
Shot was taken mid-June, on an evening at precisely 09:29 pm, just before sunset.Lighting
Completely natural light - lucky shot, as day was almost completely overcast. I do like the mood very much.Equipment
Sony Alpha 6000 (ILCE-6000), with Kit Lens. Handheld, as (almost) always.Inspiration
This place is one of my favourites on the planet. It's calm, undercrowded, peaceful, and has one of my fav restaurants. I just love spending evenings at the promenade; days' ends are being celebrated here - one can feel the gratitude of the (human) beings that can enjoy an evening there, at the shore. It feels harmonious. The best about it is the ocean! I would get up early, to spend more time there, watching the waves roll in - all day, every day! Me and the sea, an endless love story. Never dull, always different, never boring. Awesome, breathtaking. The sea always inspires me. And how I loved the light coming through the clouds for a couple of minutes this day, just to illuminate the crowns of the waves for this shot.Editing
I only made some routine lightroom corrections, to add a bit more drama to the raw file. That's it. Never use Photoshop - I just have no time for that.In my camera bag
As little as possible, as much as necessary. Most of the time, I do not even carry one, and take my pocket cams (rx100s) instead!Feedback
Be there, of course :-) Have an open heart, some camera operating skills (to be able to make the shot at the right time), passion for the subject, a vision of what you would like to capture. And a dog is helpful - they take you out at times you wouldn't go out yourself. And , most of all, self-love - the key to everything.
