Braga Romana is an event that takes place annually in Braga in May or June since 2003. It aims to show what life would be like in the city at the time of the Roman Empire, evoking its daily life as the capital city of the province of Galicia.
In these festivities, is recreated a Roman market that is stage of circus arts, dramatic representations, warlike simulations, mythological personifications, juggling, musical interpretations and dances of the time of Bracara Augusta.
This time travel also includes the organization of a Roman school, a children's play area and the traditional reception to Augustus (r. 27 BC-14 AD), in which the founding edict is read and the city administrator appointed. .
The festivities also include two Roman Parades through the streets of the historic city center, one day and one night.
