Behind The Lens

Location

The photograph is taken in the Tena valley, Sallent de Gallego, a mountain town in the Pyrenees.

Time

First thing in the morning, around 8.

Lighting

Lighting is natural, no flashes have been used

Equipment

A Nikon D7000 camera with the following exif data: ISO400, f / 5, 1/320 and Micro Nikon 60mm lens, no tripod or flash was used.

Inspiration

This butterfly is a protected species because it is in danger of extinction, and had been trying to locate it for quite some time. Finally that day I was able to capture it in a photograph. Its name is "Parnassius_apollo" known as the Apollo butterfly.

Editing

Very little I had to process the image, just raise the lights and focus a little to be able to publish on the network, all with Lr.

In my camera bag

I have a D7000 and a D850, I work with different focal lengths depending on the type of photography, 12-24 wide angle, 60 and 105 for macro, a 28-300 SUV and finally a 200-500 all from Nikon

Feedback

This type of photography requires knowing and being informed about the species, in this case a butterfly, about its way of life and where it can be found. Once this is done, patience and a little luck. Of course, it is essential to know very well the photographic equipment that we have.
