Standing right underneath the column I have to bent my back backwards and strain my head and neck really hard while hand held the camera almost to the point fall back on my back. On the site I met a free Lance photographer from London who happen to take the same subject, that is the bridge, he is a very friendly guy actually and we have a good chat, he even show me where to look for the better angle to shoot ,he also showed me the pictures his friends took from this same bridge , at the end I asked him to take a picture of me before the sunset....

Location
This image was taken in Rotterdam where this famous Euramus Bridge is situated.Time
This is one of my favourite image of the kind. One beautiful late afternoon with clear blue sky above I decided to take a walk along the bridge straight from the cruiseship port, there was lots of cyclists on the bridge too ( Cycling is a favorite activities for the locals ).Lighting
The time of the lighting was just right during the shooting as it produce the perfect angle and shadows That I prefer ,to my surprise.Equipment
I use my smart phone ,a Samsung Note 4 to shoot this image hand helded ,I walked to the middle of the bridge between the two lanes and stand right under main support column of the bridge holding the phone camera up way over my head and I had to arch my head way backwards to shoot and it was kind of windy at the moment so it's a challenge to maintain a certain position for me but it's another experience too!Inspiration
I always amazed by the geometric compositions of these kind as it can produce an aesthetic image depending the angle one use. Here I try to bring out the majestic of this structure by following the leading line of the main column up towards the crown.Editing
The original was in colours ( Which is mainly blue and warm yellowish ) and I convert it to B&W afterwards. I use Snapseed photo app for all my images basically, in this photo I applied ' selections ' and 'rotation ' to get the final result. One useful tips from my former art teacher Euphmia McNauht she said " Turn your picture upside down so to check the overall balance of the composition ".In my camera bag
Besides this Samsung phone which I always carry with me ( I am a casual and street shooter and amateur landscape photographer ) sometimes I use a Panasonic Lumix P&S camera.Feedback
Traveling extensively (I don't have this luxury ) and by research . One thing have to keep in mind is ' Safety ' because it might involves the shooter venture into some potential danger spot around the bridge in order the to get the right image, always scout around ' feel it first 'Also maintain a firm body position before shooting .
