Location
The photo was taken in County May, Ireland. I am a self taught photographer with a passion for the sea.Time
This photo was taken in the early afternoon whilst I was out on a road trip exploring the beautiful Irish coastline. It was extremely windy due to an approaching storm so trying to keep myself and the camera still was quite a challenge.Lighting
Although there was a little sunshine, the cloudy sky added to the mood of this photographEquipment
This was shot on a Canon 1300d, with a Tamron 18mm -200mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I am obsessed with the ocean and so spend a lot of time exploring the coastline looking for the perfect shot. The rougher the sea, the better as I feel the wild, crashing waves make for great dramatic photographs.Editing
I always shoot in raw and then use lightroom for post-processing. For this image I merely used lightroom to ensure that the horizon was straight and auto, and dehaze to tweak the image slightly.IIn my camera bag
I carry my Canon 1300d body, Tamron 18mm -200mm lens which is the lens I use most of the time. I also have my Canon 18mm -55mm kit lens in my bag, along with a macro lens. IN addition to the camera body and lenses I have an ND filter and because of the very unpredictable Irish weather I carry a rain cover for my camera and my gopro is always in my bag.Feedback
The Irish coastline is stunning and if you are prepared to follow little seldom used side roads you are sure to be rewarded with some breathtaking scenes. Taking photographs of the sea does require a certain amount of patience, and of course timing is important.
