Behind The Lens

Location

Isolated waterfall deep in the Okanagan National Forest, Central Washington State. Flow over this falls varies significantly through the seasons. This photo was taken during the falls’ heaviest outflow.

Time

The photo was taken a little after 1:00 PM, local time.

Lighting

There was a changing partly cloudy sky. The photo was shot during a break in the clouds but in a heavy forest.

Equipment

I believe this was taken with my Canon T2i, but I’ve had two cameras stolen—that being one.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the roar of the water, the aroma of the cedars and the placement in the canyon of the falls.

Editing

Very little processing through simple software on my computer.

In my camera bag

I carry less equipment in my bag than I should—brush, telephoto lens, wipes, filters.

Feedback

Being an amateur photographer who “shoots from the hip” so to speak, I don’t feel qualified to offer advice. I just search out the artistic merits of a scene that appeals to my subjective sensibilities.
