Within about 2 hours of landing at an airstrip in the northern Serengeti, we were so lucky to not only see a Black Rhinoceros, but also her baby!! We watched them for over an hour as they ate and napped. The baby Rhino was so curious about us! I pray this little one grows up and only encounters good humans! It was amazing to see a Black Rhinoceros with her horn in the wild. But if it takes removing their horn (sad!) to ensure their survival, so be it! Such an incredible creature just can not be gone forever, we need to protect them, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, Africa

Yes, it was so exciting....that was one animal that they tell many people they may not see. On our trip we met a couple that had come to Tanzania 5 times...and still has never seen a Rhino! We were very lucky!! Thanks for commenting!!

Thank you! And yes, they weren't far from the river, so I think they had had a good dip and roll in the mud! : )

I agree, he/she was very precious! And it was so special to see the Momma with her horn... But, if it is to save her life....I hope they remove it. Stupid Poachers! : (

Thank you so much!! It was thrilling to see a Rhino...but to see Mom and baby was over the top! And she even still had her horn. I always worry when they still have their horn, with stupid poachers around. I am sure she is well watched!
