went out to the swamp across from my house to take some pictures of these beautiful flowers. There is such a dense canopy of pine overhead the swamp it was difficult to get good lighting. Most of the pictures I took are very dark, but this one turned out the best.

Here's a beautiful female twelve-spotted skimmer. I love how the brown spots on her wings match the dead fern she's perching on.

Beautiful little ruby-throated hummer. As soon as I focused on her, she zipped away. I was surprised I got a picture at all! :)
