Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photos at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.

Time

I'm pretty sure it was mid-morning, or early afternoon. The low hanging cloud cover hides the peaks of the mountain.

Lighting

The lighting is natural and unvarnished. I wanted to capture the variances in the colour of the water and also some of the depth between the shore and the mountains.

Equipment

Nikon.

Inspiration

Growing up in Ontario, Canada I always loved seeing calendar photos of Lake Louise, but never thought I'd ever visit it in person. Now I live just hours away from it and every time I visit I am in awe of the majesty of creation and how destiny often takes seed in our lives at a young age and often comes to fruition if we're just open to wondering.

Editing

No processing - raw as can be.

In my camera bag

I'm pretty amateur - just grab my camera and play around when I see something that captures my attention or imagination.

Feedback

It was all about location for me. There's only one Lake Louise, but you do have to be patient at tourist destinations to find the right spot, wait out the crowds or not be rushed. The day I took this was in the off season and not a super busy time, so I had the luxury of taking it all in.
