Location
This photo was east of Yuma, Arizona. There was a freeway between the camera and the mountain the lights of vehicles passing is very evident. Although I worked as a high-speed photographer, lightning shots are still very intriguing.Time
This one of the better shots that I have taken of lightning. The camera was set on a tripod for the shot. It was about 7:30 PM and was almost totally dark.Lighting
I love watching the lightning and getting good shots of lightning is very enjoyable for me.Equipment
this was shot with a D850 using a Tameron 150 to 400 MM lens with the camera on a tripod.Inspiration
I had gone out because there were some storm clouds moving into the area and was hoping there would be some lightning produced. I wasn't disappointed and was able to catch a few nice shots of lightning strikes.Editing
The only post-processing that I needed to do with this photo was exposure. In my camera bag
Always have the D850 with a 24-120 lens, Tamron 150-400 lens, 12-24 lens, and a D7100.Feedback
Use care when going out for storm shots not to get to close to the storm. If taking shots of storms is something that you like, don't be disappointed if every shot is not great. You have to work at it, "practice makes perfect".
