This is a shot from 2016, some of my first time doing portrait photography with two models Kristen and Heidi. With the event being a still-life modelling themed ‘Day of the Dead’, before the shoot I showed up and didn’t really know how the shoot was going to turn out but here we are three years later!

Since then, I have experimenting in the reediting stages of it all.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took in a wee bar in Glasgow, a few years back.

Time

I believe it was mid-afternoon.

Lighting

I was still exploring the subject of portrait photography, so just used the lighting which was available.

Equipment

I think it was 50mm on a Canon 550D.

Inspiration

It was a still art class and I was asked about covering the event, so these were two wonderful models of that class.

Editing

This was a reedit of the first edit I had previously done, I was just getting used to Lightroom last year and thought I would play around with making almost alike to an oil painting.

In my camera bag

Couple of lenses, my camera, battery charger, business cards and some band EPs from gigs.

Feedback

Just be chill, unlike a landscape or product photography - your photographing another human. Don't be commanding, be friendly talk to them etc
