Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken in Central Park, New York. It was November 2016 and my second trip to Central Park since moving to New York City. The park was glowing with all the colors from the trees. It was not too cold, which made the trip more enjoyable. I'm a very shy person so I waited until the area was clear of people to take the shot.Time
It was a beautiful afternoon when the photo was taken, around 4:30 pm.Lighting
The day was cloudy, which created a great natural light for the photograph. My camera setting were ƒ/8 1/60 ISO800.Equipment
The equipment I used for this photo were my Nikon D610 camera with a 50mm lens. I did not use a tripod. I was able to balance my camera right on top of the bench while putting one knee on the ground. The camera flash was not needed.Inspiration
What inspired me to take this photo was my love for Fall. Everything about Autumn inspires my creativity, not only in photography but also in my daily activities. Also my love for nature and the enchantment of New York City during Fall is what gave me the muse to capture the beauty around me. Central Park is one of the most beautiful places in New York and to take a walk there during the season of Autumn feels like a dream.Editing
Yes. I did post-processing on this photograph. I'm a visual creator and I wanted to reflect on this photo what I saw with my own eyes but did not capture it. The leaves were falling but not at the same time and it takes patience and time to do multiple shots and later combine them to create one photo. The colors and depth were adjusted in Adobe Lightroom and the leaves were added as an overlay. In my camera bag
The first thing I put inside my camera bag is not the camera. I always check the small items first, for example: metro card, ID and Debit card, memory cards, lens cleaners, battery, charger and food for the squirrels and birds. Then I pack my lenses (50mm and 28-300 mm) .The camera (Nikon D610) is big enough so there's no way I will forget about putting it in my bag. She's the last thing I pack.Feedback
For others trying to capture something similar, all they have to do is wait for Autumn. Nature gives us free resources and places. You don't have to go to a fancy place. Beauty is right outside your doors. Have a little walk in nature, get inspired by the colors, the feeling of the breeze in your face. Everything else will come naturally.
