An ancient tropical forest and once home to Native Americans is now one of the best kept secrets in Colorado.

Volunteering with a hot air balloon crew is a great way to get up close to the action.

The changing fall foliage in the mountains is always another good reason to sit and appreciate the beauty of nature.

This owl made this tree in a park its home for quite some time. I guess it enjoyed the nice spot right by a stream with plenty of sun.

Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Garden of the Gods, a national natural landmark in Colorado and one of my favorite places to hike.

Time

This was captured in the afternoon during a hike.

Lighting

That particular day was pretty nice and bright; good for bee-watching in the sunflowers!

Equipment

I happened to get a few lucky shots on an LG smartphone; this was one of them.

Inspiration

I love sunflowers and find it difficult to not take photos whenever, wherever I see them! The bees love them too and are such a precious resource to our environment.

Editing

Not for this one. I'm an amateur and am always learning!
