Location
This is the Orangery at Wrest Park in Bedfordshire, in August.Time
My wife and I were visiting Wrest Park on a day out. It was a lovely day, very still and hot. This shot was taken handheld at about 4.30pm.Lighting
The clouds had come over and softened the light and I was trying to catch the peacefulness of the location.Equipment
This was shot on my Canon 5D Mk. IV with a 24-105mm f/4L lens. The settings were ISO 125, focal length 105mm, F11 at 1/100, handheld.Inspiration
I’d been to Wrest Park a couple of times before and I wanted to return when I got my Mark IV to really do the scene justice. I wanted to create images that I could frame and hang on our walls.Editing
I don’t do much post processing, just lifted the exposure and adjusted a couple of things. In my camera bag
I now always have my 5D Mark IV with the 24-105mm f4/L and a 50mm f/1.8.Feedback
If you get the opportunity, head for Wrest Park and plan on spending the day. Apart from the scenic grounds there is a Great House, which operated as a hospital in the Second World War. Historically, architecturally and scenically it is a treasure.
