I went to visit this abbey to look for inspiration and motivation. It is the place where "Festial", a sermon collection I work on in my PhD, was created by an Augustinian Canon, John Mirk. I wanted to feel a stronger connection to the man and to the text he wrote c. 640 years ago. I wanted to listen for the sound of monks' ghostly whispers in the breeze.
