This phot was taken in my master bedroom! This is actually my own newborn baby and husband. She is 6 weeks old right here :)Time
This was Taken Feb 16th, 2019 in the middle of the afternoon. We have very large window that sit opposite of a large blank wall in our room, so it was the perfect lighting. As a photographer, with my very first newborn baby, I decided I wanted to take a photo every week for the first 3 months, and then monthly after that for the first year. This little ones change so quickly, so we wanted to capture her development along the way.Lighting

Just to capture my child during the first moment of her life.Editing
Mostly converted it to BW, brought up the shadows, took down the highlights, and deepened the blacks. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon d750 with its 24-120mm lens. I carry back up memory cards and batteries always. I also keep a 50mm and a 105macro in case I really want to get the details. A sun-flare hood, and a speed light.Feedback
Don't force it! Be prepared for the baby to have an accident. Try to get the baby while s/he is sleepy. And make sure the posing parent is comfortable holding the baby in "creative" ways. I have tried to recreate this with clients who adored this photo but the dad was not as comfortable holding a newborn yet. So the results were not quite the same, just coach your clients and make sure they are comfortable and at ease or the baby will be equally as unsteady.
