Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Loganville, GA. I happened to be a vintage car lover and saw this sitting in the driveway and just had to take a shot of it.

Time

It was around 3pm in the afternoon. It was just this cool vintage car sitting in a driveway.

Lighting

the lighting was nature’s special sauce as all I had for this was the Sunlight available.

Equipment

I believe this was taken with my iPhone.

Inspiration

I’m a vintage car lover and some of my favorites are vintage VW’s so when I came across this in vehicle sitting in a driveway and the background behind it I just had to take a photo.

Editing

I try not to do a lot of post editing a firm believer of doing things in camera and shifting angles to get the right shot.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry my iPhone no matter what, but I have a set of Mamiya 645 lenses and use them on the Sony A7sii or the Nikon I own. I still shoot a lot of film and then do digital scans of them.

Feedback

I’m self taught so I’d can’t say training but training and reading all the manuals and information books you can and then also pick up the camera and go shoot sure you’ll have bad shots but the point is to shoot and learn and grow. I set a goal one year to at least one photo a day and see what they looked like and how I could improve. I got some good shots that year and I got many a bad shot but I was shooting and it made me happy and that’s what matters I think.
