Location
The photo was taken in Ely Minnesota at a place called Veterans on the lake. The lake is called Fall Lake.Time
I was just sitting there photographing the wildlife on the lake.It was by pure chance I got this picture. It was taken off the dock at sunset around 6 or 7 Pm.Lighting
The lighting was just at that perfect golden hour.Equipment
I was using a 5D MKIV with a Canon EF 17-40mm L along with a tripod.Inspiration
That is a great question. I was there to get pictures of the wildlife on the lake, not a sunset. it was just one of those things being in the right place at the right time. I did not even really realize what I had until I looked at the downloaded pictures.Editing
I uses Lightroom for the highlights and shadows, and added a little contrast, and just a touch of saturation. Added some denoise like I do with all my pictures. That is about it.In my camera bag
In my bag I carry a 5D MK IV and a 7D MKII for cameras. For lens I have Sigma 150-600mm contemporary for wild life and a Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS III USM I use for multi purpose wildlife, portraits and some landscape.I also Have a Canon EF 17-40mm L for Landscape and Real Estate. I also have an External flash along with a bunch of SD cards and Batteries, as well as a Tripod.Feedback
I would say, you never know when you might get a great picture. So always look at all of them when you get home, and you might just be amazed at what you will find. so never delete anything until you are very sure you have gone through them all. Also just a little something else, you dont need to have the very best camera to take great pictures. you need to 1, Take lots of pictures, and 2, be lucky, you may never of meant to get the shot in the first place, but after reviewing your pictures you might have a awesome picture you never knew you took.
