Location
At D. Luís Bridge in Porto, Portugal. I was at a practical photography class, practicing some techniques with friends from class.Time
I took this one at night, around 9 or 10 pm. I remember it was one of the last practical classes and we came here after spending afternoon all over the city.Lighting
We were practicing playing with light and exposure time. And since in this bridge the subway goes by the surface, I wanted to also play with movement, not only from the subway, but from people passing by.Equipment
This was shot with a tripod (Manfroto beFree), a Fujifilm XT-30 and a Fujinon X lens 18-55mm.Inspiration
I wanted to get a sense of movement in relation to someone standing still and the things static surrounding that person.Editing
Probably a very small light correction and or cropping. This was taken 2 years ago and I’m not totally sure. But at this point our knowledge of post processing software was very rudimental. In my camera bag
I only have my Fujifilm XT-30, so that’s my body of choice. On holidays I usually take my fujinon x 18-55mm and 10-24mm lens and a gorilla 3k as a tripod, given its versatility. I always have spare batteries and memory cards.Feedback
Observe the place and take advantage of the best features it has. In this case, this is a very busy area with the subway and people passing by. So using low time of exposure allows this effect on the subway and the moving people to disappear.
