Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Australian Telescope Compact Array at Narrabri

Time

Taken on the 27th of July at 8.30pm

Lighting

I did not use any lighting

Equipment

I used my canon mark 3 with 24-70 f2.8 lens on a tripod. Settings used F2.8 30sec iso 10000 focal length 24mm

Inspiration

I had been waiting for the opportunity to visit the ATCA for a long time and when they ran their first open night for photographers I jumped at the chance, we live in Tamworth a few hours away.

Editing

Not much just adjusted the exposure and sharpness a little

In my camera bag

My trusty old Canon Mark III, 24-70 f2.8, 50 f1.2, 70-200 f2.8

Feedback

The lower the fstop the better when shooting the night sky, a sturdy tripod is essential, the milky way is only visible between March and October for best results choose a time when the moon is not visible.
