One of my top bucket list items has been to dive at the famous Silfra Lagoon, which is known to have the clearest water in the world. In June this year we found ourselves in Iceland, working alongside photographers on a project for Inspired by Iceland, the local tourism board! We were treated with amazing visibility freshwater, which is also very cold (2° C!) as it does not see the light of day for years after melting from the glaciers. The meltwater filters through porous volcanic rock over decades to eventually reach the lake and fill the rift between the tectonic plates of Eurasia and America.
