Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the patient and family garden at my local hospital. It was so fitting to see the dragonflies passing through lifting the spirits of those who really needed it. I am a self taught photographer who gets pure enjoyment out of sharing images that turn a moment of time into a memory.

Time

This was taken in the late afternoon as the sun was starting to set for the day.

Lighting

I wanted to draw in the natural light from the sun, so the light you see was the beams shining as the sun was setting.

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon EOS Rebel T6s Digital SLR with my 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens.

Inspiration

I am always inspired by creating something beautiful during a time when someone is feeling pain. The shots from the garden are a way of recognizing hope and sharing a moment with patients when they need it most.

Editing

I shoot most photos in raw. Outside of cropping there are rarely edits or enhancements to any shots.

In my camera bag

I always pack my Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens. It’s my go to lens for macro shots. Also, an extra charged battery!

Feedback

Be present in the moment and look for the little things that people don’t seem to easily notice. It’s the little things that pull together to make the big picture in our world.
