Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the island of Öland, Sweden. More precise on the south on the southern tip of Öland.

Time

It was early morning, I think I went there around 5 am but my aim for that trip was actually tje many birds that live there.

Lighting

It was a early summer morning, just past golden hour, but the lighting was ok.

Equipment

I used a Canon 7D mk2 with a Tamron 100-400.

Inspiration

As a wrote above, my aim was birds, but as a walked around this fallow dear appeared in some distance. I approached it gently, and it recognized me early on, but stayed without moving. I think I was about 30 meters away when I took some shoots, and suddenly it looked right at me, allowing me to take that one shot.

Editing

Not much post-processing, mainly cropping the image, and small adjustment to the lighting.

In my camera bag

I usually carry my Canon 7D mk2, together with the Tamron 100-400 for wildlife. And the Canon 17-55/2,8 for a possilbe landscape shot.

Feedback

Patience is key when it comes to wildlife, be it birds or other animals.
