Location
This photo was taken in my backyard in the middle of a rainstorm.Time
This photo was the first time I had attempted to photograph the rain. It was the middle of the afternoon and I was working from the home office and it began to pour. It was 1:29 pm when I snapped this shot.Lighting
It was natural lighting, afternoon sun with the heavy clouds.Equipment
I was shooting with a Nikon D7500 with 70-200 2.8 with a teleconverter. I shot this handheld.Inspiration
I had seen several recent shots of rain and with it being a heavy storm, I felt my odds of being able to capture rain hitting a clear surface would be possible. Taking shots of flowers in the rain and this table allowed for a different take on objects we see every day. Some of the most interesting shots I have ever seen are everyday objects taken from a new perspective.Editing
I processed this shot and almost all of my shots in Lightroom Mobile. For this shot I did very little, I adjusted the highlights and the blacks. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D7500 and Tameron 70-200 2.8 This is by far one of those lenses which I have found useful in almost any shot, from taking pictures of my family to the zoo and even air races. I have a 35mm 1.8 an 85 1.8 both made by Nikon. Sigma 10-20 3.5 I recently added to shoot landscapes and finally my Tameron 18-400 which is my most versatile lens. Not the fastest of lenses but it gets the job done. I always have my 1.4 teleconverter in my bag.Feedback
This shot I was fortunate enough to shoot in daylight with the sun behind the rain and could shoot from cover, shooting in the rain is problematic if you do not have the right equipment to protect your gear. The key with shooting rain (this was my first attempt at rain), is a fast shutter on continuous shooting, you can not time the raindrops, you end up with a lot of shots to delete down, but you get what you need.
