Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Clayton New York. My wife and I were looking at all the poker run boats the night before they have the run.

Time

I took this photo at sunset or just after. This was one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen! The colors were absolutely amazing.

Lighting

The lighting was mostly all natural from the sunset and very little from the post light in the photo.

Equipment

This photo was taken with my Sony A7ii with the kit Sony FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens. No other equipment was used.

Inspiration

I always enjoy shooting sunsets! My wife and I were walking around one summer night in Clayton and saw the most amazing sunset. What is caught with the camera is what we saw the colors and details were crazy.

Editing

I did I mostly used Lightroom but didn’t process to much. I brought up some of the shadows and added a little saturation. I try to not edit my photos to much to give them a more natural feeling.

In my camera bag

I always have my DJI Mavic 2 Pro, My Sony A7ii and two lenses my kit lens and a 50mm Sony. Sometimes I carry my GoPro hero 7 black.

Feedback

My advice is to just get outside of the weather is nice and wait out the whole sunset! It may not look like much to start with but give it time. I think we sat and watched this sunset for hours just in awe. We try to wait out the whole sun setting as it changes or can change for the better or worse in a short time. Be patient with it it’s nice to just sit and enjoy watching the world around you!
