Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on the bank of the River Nene 1 mile west of Peterborough.

Time

On a leisurely stroll along the bank of the river Nene near Peterborough, I came across this little chap at 10:35 on 17/07/2019.

Lighting

no flash used - merely daylight

Equipment

Nikon D7100 with Tamron 70-300mm lens, F8 at 1/250sec with lens at 105mm. Hand held.

Inspiration

I was looking for some macro practice on the day in question and used a number of insects in their natural habitat, near the water's edge

Editing

None

In my camera bag

Nikon D3000 [soon to be replaced with Nikon D850] and Nikon D7100. Lenses carried are Nikkor 50mm prime, Sigma 105mm prime [with macro], Tamron 70-300mm [with macro], Nikkor 24-120mm.

Feedback

When shooting insects, patience is extremely important, together with an amount of stealth. Re-focus frequently as the slightest of subjects movement can take if out of focus. Be prepared to miss a number of shots.
